The weather is warming up, here in Austin. The wildflowers are blooming and school is out in a few more days!
For the last 10 weeks I have had the best time working with The Garden Club at Rough Hollow Elementary in Lakeway Texas! It has been so much fun working with 15 students, K - 5 in their school garden!
They were so excited and engaged. They learned about seeds, planting, flowers, herbs and vegetables. We made an irrigation system using recycled water bottles! We also talked about pollinators and how important they are. This week we celebrated the planting season with a Garden Party! Parents and siblings were invited to see what has been growing in the garden! Everyone got in on the first garden harvest. It was the perfect way to share their accomplishments with their families. We also made fresh Pesto and it was an instant hit! We also peeled dried Loofahs and extracted the seeds and the sponges!

I don't know about you, but I find inspiration in the most unexpected places. Now is the perfect time to get that inspiration flowing!
I love to check-in with clients and see how they have grown as gardeners. I marvel at their problem solving and ingenuity, especially during tough conditions! Seeing the creative methods they used to protect their coveted crops. Their "out of the box" thinking sure has inspired me! I love how all gardeners can learn from each other. Gardening is a lifelong, learning process.
